Abandoned castle near Du Loup.
Everyone knows Chateau Du Loup, right? But in the same park, there's another, somewhat smaller abandoned chateau. I couldn't find any urbex name for it though...
Anyway, both castles were build by the same architect, in the year 1912 and completed by the year 1914. The castles had a split driveway, some mutual buildings and belonged to two brothers, both sons of the mayer of this city.
When the war started, these two brothers volunteered in the Belgian Army and the Germans occupied the two castles. One of the castles was used as a prison building at the time and the other one became a bathhouse. After World War I, the two castles were restored, but the Germans occupied them again in World War II. Nowadays, both castles are property of the city, while the park is public domain, and both castles are being renovated as we speak.
