Hi guys,
A while ago, I came across an ad on Facebook of this company called Saal Digital. Saal Digital is a professional photo lab with great enthusiasm for photography, that is specialized in high quality photo products, including photo books, prints, calendars, wall decoration and multiple other photo gifts. Saal Digital was looking for photographers willing to test and review one of their wall decoration products and as a hobby photographer with plain and boring walls without any decor yet, I decided to apply. Only 2 days later I received an email saying I was one of the lucky ones. I was thrilled, we've just moved to a new house and we didn't had any pictures hanging on our walls yet, so you can imagine how happy I just was! ;) The first step was installing the Design Software Saal Digital provides to create your wall art. You can download the Design Software here. The Design Software is easy to download, to install and to use. You just have to upload the desired picture into the software and you have several options to choose from, including the material and the size you like. After creating and editing your wall art, you can choose your desired mounting options and after that, you just proceed to the check out where you can choose between the multiple paying options for your newly created wall art. Next up was deciding what picture I would like to have hanging on our wall. A few months before I spotted the Saal Digital ad on Facebook, my boyfriend and me went citytripping in Budapest, Hungary and as a dedicated photographer, I had my Canon Eos 1200D with me. Budapest really is any photographer's dream, such a beautiful city with a whole bunch of architectural gems all over the place. I decided to go with one of the pictures I took of the Budapest Parliament, a nice and sleek black and white picture that shows the beauty of the city and it's buildings very well. This is the original picture: Next up was choosing the material and the size of my new wall decoration. I didn't want canvas, everybody has canvas wall art on their walls, I wanted something more unique and more special, I wanted the material to complement my picture, to create a special and unique piece of art that can't be found in every house in the neighborhood. At first, I was totally hooked on the Acrylic Glass but I decided to go with the PVC Foamboard because the foamboard is suitable for both inside as outside use. This is a plain white foamboard which comes in several sizes and prices. You can choose between the 5 mm or 10 mm foamboard, which is printed with direct UV printing, making your wall art sun, fading and water resistant, and last but not least, they offer several mounting options to make it very easy for customers to mount it onto the wall. Besides Canvas and PVC Foamboard, the other materials you can choose from are Alu-Dibond, Alu-Dibond Butlerfinish and Gallery Print. 5 days after creating my unique piece of wall art, my package arrived. The package was send from Germany, by DHL. During those 5 days, I received multiple emails from Saal Digital to keep me updated about the whole process. I also received a tracking code from DHL to track my package on the road. The print was packed with care, totally wrapped in plastic and packed in cardboard. As you can see, I choose the aluminium frame mounting system. This mounting system is quite expensive, but when your art arrives at your door, you'll see it's ready to get mounted immediately, you don't have to do anything, besides unpacking the box and hammering a nail or two into the wall... ;) As you can see, the quality is quite good, my picture is still looking sharp and nice. I'm quite happy with the result. The software is easy to use, the quality of the wall art is good, the packaging was very decent and the customer service was excellent. If I really have to give one disadvantage, I would say Saal Digital could use more paying options. You can pay using Paypal, Visa or Mastercard but a good old bank transfer isn't one of their options. But you can always deposit money directly from your bank account to Paypal, so that really isn't much of a problem after all... ;) The price for their wall decoration is quite high, but since you're getting an excellent service and a beautiful, very decent and high quality product, it's definitely worth the money! Yes, I'm happy! ;) A huge thanks to Saal Digital for giving me this opportunity, this was a great experience and I'm very happy I was so lucky to be a part of this! Thank you so much to the entire team! Love, Nathalie Note: This is a sponsored review. I received the product mentioned in this article with the sole purpose of giving my honest opinion about the product, the service and the shop. Fancy a collaboration with me? Feel free to contact me!
